A.Y tenders apology to Afrobeat Singer Davido, over fuss created by his words during his comedy show in Delta State.
The 6th of October 2023, witnessed the showdown of the Warri Again events hosted by the Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun popularly known as A.Y.
The show didn’t go down this time without an apology from the comedian after he made a mockery of the DMW CEO, Davido in his words.
A.Y words triggered reactions on social media after the comedy-like insult about the songwriter.
The comedian has mocked Davido stating that the songwriter who had “small preek” had fathered many children and also gathered baby mama’s around
He claimed during the show, that even though Warri men have “huge manhood,” it took him 13 years to have two children despite his repeated attempts.
Following this viral comedy film in which he was seen slyly insulting Davido, AY faced a lot of reaction on Sunday.
This joke was counted as insensitive as it shows a form of disrespect to the singer’s reputation.
However, A.Y responded to the backlash with an apology to Davido on his Instagram page
His post reads:
“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.
“Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo (younger brother). No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido”.
In response to the apology, Davido wrote on his social media page, “Nothing spoil baba mi.” with a love emoji.
This has reunited the celebrities together even as A.Y claims Davido remains one of his favorite artists.
