Renowned Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has taken a significant step towards reconciling with his fellow comedian, A.Y, following years of strained friendship.
On October 2nd, 2023, Basketmouth went public with his efforts to mend fences by posting a heartfelt apology video on his Instagram account. In the video, he extended his apologies not only to A.Y but also to others he may have offended within the entertainment industry.

This reconciliation effort comes after a prolonged feud that stemmed from a financial dispute. A.Y had claimed for over a decade that Basketmouth owed him money, dating back to a business deal gone awry in 2006. During a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo in March 2023, A.Y recounted how he had vouched for Basketmouth for a gig in the early stages of their careers, only to be left without payment even after the event organizers had sent the funds.
Basketmouth, acknowledging his past mistakes, admitted fault and expressed his sincere desire for forgiveness from A.Y and other colleagues in the entertainment sphere. This move marks a significant step towards resolving their longstanding differences.
