Nigeria Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, lost his mother, Dolapo Balogun on Friday August 18.
This was made known by Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s manager, who broke the news that she died in the early hours of Friday.
The Grammy award winner is yet to make a public statement as regards his loss.
Mrs Balogun who had two other children. Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun stood as an unswerving pillar of strength, whose invaluable contributions helped her son’s flourishing career.
The Starboy has mentioned her or spoken about their tight bond and her love in five different songs namely Pakurumo, Joy, Mummy Mi, Jaiye Jaiye and his biggest breakthrough song, Ojuelegba.
