Hours after Angela Bassett lost out at the just concluded Oscars in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, reactions have since been pouring in, questioning if Jamie Lee Curtis in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ truly deserved the award.
This is however the second time Angela Bassett will be nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in Black Panther. Let’s take a look at her reaction when the winner was announced which sparked the whole conversation.
Many now see the move by the Oscars as a snub, as Angela Bassett was expected to take home the award after she even recently won a Golden Globe for ‘Best Supporting Actress for the same role.
Just so you know, this Jamie Lee Curtis’s Oscar win is the second recent one for her ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ role.
She also won the 2023 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards for ‘Outstanding Performance by A Female Actor in A Supporting Role,’ and guess what, Angela Bassett was also nominated in that category for her Queen Ramonda role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
