Nigerian film maker and founder of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards popularly known as AMAA, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is dead.
According to reports, she gave up the ghost at St. Nicolas Hospital, Lagos after being in a coma since Saturday.
Notable Film maker, Zik Zulu broke the news on a Nollywood platform writing, “Our President, Peace, has passed. As at Saturday, she was reported to be in coma at Saint Nicholas. But now her family has confirmed her transition. May the memory of her life be a blessing. Rest in peace, dear Peace.”
Film director and producer, Obi Emelonye also confirmed Osigwe’s death on his Instagram page, sharing her picture with the caption, “Thank you and good night, Dada Peace.”
Her family has now confirmed her passing in a statement which is titled ‘Peace Maria Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe: An epitome of creative transcendence’
