Canadian singer, Justin Bieber is reportedly close to finalizing a deal that would see him sell his entire music catalog for two hundred million dollars.
According to reports, the singer is in talks with Hipgnosis Songs Capital to broker this deal which will be one of the biggest music-rights acquisitions in the company’s history.
And this deal will include Justin Bieber’s full discography, which spans six albums and a number of one-off singles and collaborations.
Experts and investors says putting money down on younger music comes with a higher risk, while jumping on older hits is safer, especially as popularity in decades-old songs grows over time.
Just so you know, this same company is responsible for purchasing catalog rights to Justin Timberlake’s discography earlier this year for one hundred million dollars.
They also bought Leonard Cohen’s catalog in March, although the details of the acquisition were not made public.
