American Singer, Kehlani is currently experiencing post-traumatic stress after being sexually assaulted by a fan.
This happened after her performance at the 02 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. The show was a part of the European leg of her “Bluewater road trip tour”.
She was being walked through the crowd after the show when she felt someone pull up her skirt and touched her genitals.
The American singer explained how violated she felt through a lengthy message on her Instagram story. She said,
“I’ve made video after video and deleted it because I don’t want any video of me as angry, triggered, crying upset as I am everywhere. I don’t care how sexual you deem my music, my performances, my fun with my friends dancing at clubs, or ME… That does not give any of you the right to cross a boundary like sticking your hands up my skirt & pulling my underwear to TOUCH MY GENITALS as I am being escorted through a crowd after performing.”
Kehlani revealed her past trauma made the incident even more triggering for her: “This shit made me sick to my stomach. as a victim of sexual assault, I am endlessly triggered and mindblown.”
We hope she gets better as this could be such a traumatic experience.
