Vogue Magazine has filed a lawsuit against Drake and 21 Savage over the promotion of their new album, ‘Her Loss’, where they used fake Vogue covers.
According to legal documents filled by Conde Naste, Vogue’s parent company, Drake and 21 used the legacy magazine’s name to promote their joint album, ‘Her Loss’ by posing on what looks like a legit VOGUE cover, leading fans to believe the company would drop the special edition soon.
Drake even gave the brand and editor-in-chief Anna Wintour a shout-out online, writing, “Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow!!! Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment. Her Loss Nov 4th”
On the other hand, Conde Nast which owns Vogue, insisted that they did not endorse ‘Her Loss’ in any way.
They also revealed that they’ve asked multiple times for all promos using the Vogue name to be taken down, but nothing’s been done.
The Magazine alleged that the rappers falsely promoted the Vogue collaboration on social media, while also putting up posters of the cover in major cities.
Drake and 21 Savage’s team were also accused of sending out email blast about celebrating the Vogue cover, and also claiming that street teams across the country would even be handing out copies.
Vogue’s parent company reportedly wants a judge to shut down the use of the Vogue mark immediately, as they are seeking at least four million dollars in damages.
