The degree of severity of most burns is based on the size and depth of the burn. Electrical burns, however, are more difficult to diagnose because they’re capable of causing significant injury beneath the skin without showing any signs of damage on the surface.
Sunburn and small scalds can often be treated at home. Deep or widespread burns and chemical or electrical burns need immediate medical care, often at specialised burn units. Burns basically depends on the degree. We have,
  • First Degree burns
  • Second Degree burns
  • Third Degree burns
  • Fourth-degree burns
  • If the fire is still on the body of the person, roll the person on the floor to quench the fire.

The treatment of burns depends on the location and severity of the damage

Here are some first-aid treatments for burns

  • Put the patients in running water of temperature
  • Do not apply oil on the person’s body as some oil can cause more heat
  • Don’t use ice on a burning surface as ace can actually cause a burn
  • Do not try to break the blisters
  • Transport the person to the hospital immediately after first aid mostly if its a second, third or fourth-degree burn
  • Wrap the person with a clean cloth to avoid infection
  • Place the patients opposite the affected place and ensure the person is comfortable in that position.

There is a healing process for burns based on the degree of the burn. When there is burning on the bone, it can cause contracture and stiffness of the joint.
