Nigerian music enthusiasts are always sure to start a discussion, and this time it is about a comparison between Oxlade and Wande Coal.
The “Ku Lo Sa” star and Nigerian singer Oxlade responded to a fan’s tweet that compared him to Wande Coal, making it clear that the singer is still unwavering in his allegiance.
The “Ku Lo Sa” crooner who had taken a stance in favour of his older colleague had been prompted to open up on his admiration for the veteran singer when a Twitter stated; “Unpopular opinion: Oxlade has a better singing voice and vocal range than Wande coal.”
The younger singer then stepped in by replying to the tweet by saying;
Recall in 2021, Oxlade stated during an interview that he will always be in awe of Wande Coal because of the impact he had on him as a person and his music.
According to the lanted singer, Wande literally influenced his sound and how he patterned his music. Oxlade also dismisses any comparisons between himself and the legendary singer as “arrant nonsense.”
When Nadine asks the “Away” crooner what he thinks of people who compare him to Wande Coal, he says;
I think it’s nonsense. I think it’s arrant nonsense, like what’s that? Sometimes, I’ll be on Twitter and people will just tweet some things, and I’ll be like these guys have started taking that thing again.
Wande is the reason I’m singing. “Mushin to Mo’Hits” is the reason I went to studio to record music. Falsetto, harmonies, melodies, and all that. Wande is clear o, please.
