One of R. Kelly’s alleged victim/girlfriend Joycelyn Savage issued a letter to the federal judge prior to his thirty-year sentencing, in which she claimed that she is engaged to the embattled singer.

According to the letter which was dated June 13 to the U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly, Joycelyn Savage wrote,
“My name is Joycelyn Savage, and I’m Robert Kelly’s fiancée. I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”
She further described her relationship with R. Kelly as “amazing” and “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
She also added that they’re still “deeply in love,” and that “Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be.”
She ended her letter by denying that he ever held her against her will, as she asked for a more lenient sentence for him.
In related news, Joycelyn Savage’s family have come out to claim that they weren’t aware of such engagement.
According to TMZ, her parents’ attorney, Gerald Griggs, claim she never made the engagement known to the family.
He says he finds it odd that Joycelyn didn’t testify about it under oath, but instead slipped it into the letter for Judge Ann Donnelly that was submitted to the court before R. Kelly’s thirty-year sentencing.
Her family however has strong doubts about the engagement, but still wishes to reconnect with her to get the whole story.
Just so you know, Joycelyn has had a strained relationship with her family ever since she eloped with R. Kelly.
Although he has been incarcerated for years, the Savage family are still not able to speak to their daughter.
Last November, the family told TMZ that at the time, they were still being shut out from talking to their daughter, and the only way to reach her was through R. Kelly’s handlers.
