Idowu Philips (born 16 October 1942), popularly known as Iya Rainbow, is a Nigerian veteran. She is famous for her character roles as a mother, mother in-law or a grandmother.
She started her acting career in the 90’s as she has appeared in English and Yoruba Nollywood movies. Mama Rainbow is still relevant till date which is the reason she still works with bigger brands.
3. Joke Silva
Joke Silva, MFR is a Nigerian actress, director, and businesswoman. A graduate of the University of Lagos and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Joke Silva began her career in film in the early 1990s
Since the early 90’s Joke Silva has made a name for herself in film and Tv. She has maintain a tireless work ethic as she is easily one of the most talented veteran actresses in Nollywood. Being relevant would be an understatement as she has starred in several big movies. Some of it includes,

4. Sola Sobowale
Sola Sobowale is a Nigerian film actress, screenwriter, director and producer. Sola Sobowale had her big break in 2001, in the premiere of Nigeria’s popular television drama series Super Story: Oh Father, Oh Daughter.
The Nollywood star can not only be described as a veteran but as a pioneer in the modern day movie industry. She took a break for a while but came back like she never left and she has shown that real talent doesn’t age.

5. Patience Ozokwor
This list cannot be complete without ‘Mama G’ herself, Patience Ozokwor.
Patience Ozokwor was born 14 September 1958, is a Nigerian musician, fashion designer, gospel singer and actress. She won the Best Supporting Actress 2012 & 2013 award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
She has been a household name since forever and she’s one of the veteran actress in Nollywood who is still trending and of-course famous for her stereotype character as the ‘wicked mother in-law’.
She is consider one of the pioneers of Nollywood with an acting portfolio of over 2 decade. She has starred n various blockbuster movies even till date.
