DR DRE’S ESTRANGED WIFE SUES HIM CLAIMING THAT SHE CO-OWNS THE TRADEMARK TO HIS NAME
The messy divorce drama between American music producer and rapper Dr. Dre and his estranged wife Nicole Young continues as she has filed another lawsuit against him in a California court.
According to new court documents, Nicole is suing Dr. Dre claiming that she co-owns the trademark to his stage name, as well as his classic album, “The Chronic”.
The document states that Dre was “caught secretly transferring valuable trademarks he owned with his wife to a newly created asset holding company that he created and controlled after he expelled his wife from their home, and before he threatened to file divorce.”
Reacting to the new lawsuit, a close source told TMZ that Nicole Young is not entitled to joint ownership of the said trademarks because the rapper has used his stage name since the 80’s, and released his debut album, “The Chronic” in 1992, about four years before their marriage in 1996.
The source further stated, “It’s the act of a desperate woman who finally realised that the iron-clad prenup she signed doesn’t win her the lottery. In their 26 years together, there has never been any hint or claim of threatened or actual physical violence and the insinuation is an insult to actual victims of domestic abuse.”
