Nollywood Actress, Ego Boyo was one time the screen darling when she featured in TV series ‘Checkmate’, which graced the Nigerian TV screens in the early 90’s.
According to the filmmaker, she misses the old days when the industry was rich in content and originality.
The actress and filmmaker is yet to understand why Nigerian banks will choose to spend huge funds on premiere of Hollywood movies in Nigeria, she has queried the sponsorship of foreign movies by Nigerian banks and other corporate organisations in recent time.
The Checkmate star took to her Twitter page to bare her mind on the recent wave which has seen Nigerian banks and other corporate organisations bankrolling elaborate red carpet premieres for Hollywood movies like Black Panther and Ocean 8 in 2018 alone.
She wrote:
Just wondering why some Nigerian Banks and Corporate organisations sponsor premieres of Foreign Films?
No notice or interest from Hollywood or the producers of those
