Singer R. Kelly, amid allegations of sexual misconduct released On Sunday July 22, 2018 released a 19-minute song titled ‘I admit’ in which he reveals he was abused himself.
Beginning line after line with “I admit …” the singer confesses to a multitude of acts, including infidelity, sleeping with his girlfriend’s best friend, having sexual relationships with fans and going to strip clubs every week.
“I admit I was in my own way,” he sings.
“I never thought it would come to this, to be the most disrespected artist,” he sings over a mid-tempo R&B beat. “So I had to write a song about this, ’cause they always take my words and twist it.”
“Say I’m abusing these women. What the fuck, that’s some absurd shit. They brainwashed? Really? Kidnapped? Really? Can’t eat? Really? Real talk, that shit sound silly,” he sings.

“Now, I admit that I got some girls that love me to pull they hair. And I admit they love me to talk dirty when I pull they hair. Some like me to spank ’em,” he adds in the next verse.
Kelly also addresses accusations of pedophilia, denying those claims as well.
Halfway through the song, Kelly says that a family member touched him sexually from a young age until he was 14.
He also chides celebrities who have turned on him including singer John Legend as well as top streaming service Spotify, which briefly removed him from playlists as part of a crackdown.
“I’m not convicted / Not arrested / Dragged my name in the dirt,” he sings.

However, Kelly’s long history of accusations of impropriety with young women dates back to 1994, when the singer was 27 years old and reportedly married his 15-year-old protegee, singer Aaliyah. The marriage was annulled after Aaliyah’s family became aware of it, the Chicago Sun-Times reported
