The Black Stars of Ghana emerged as champions of the 2017 West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations on Sunday after they thrashed the Super Eagles 4-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The hosts defeated bitter rivals Nigeria with 4-1 on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Vincent Atingah doubled their lead from the penalty spot.
Another spot-kick was awarded to Ghana and Stephen Sarfo converted it to make it 3-0.
Atingah was sent off late in the game, but it did nothing to change the final outcome, as the Ghanaians added one more goal in injury time.
A stunning free-kick from Rabiu Ali was merely a consolation for Salisu Yusuf’s men.
Nigeria had defeated the Black Stars 2-0, when they met during the group stages of the tournament.
