Singer Jay -Z took to his twitter handle to reveal how he begged his wife Beyoncé not to leave him. Beyoncé while on vacation and shortly after finding out about her husband’s infidelities, told Jay-Z she was leaving him.
The star couple were on a romantic boat holiday that quickly turned sour when Queen B told Jay-Z she was ready to call it quits on their marriage.
In a video titled Footnotes off his 4:44 album, Jay-Z shares how he was put in an uncomfortable position where he had to beg Beyoncé not to walk out on their union. She had been fed up with his cheating and was seriously considering divorce.
“What is happening to my body right now? Did I just say … ‘Don’t leave’? All this is new for me,” he said.
He speaks about how their relationship was not built on 100% truth, and the cracks started to show in their marriage.
“This is my real life. I just ran into this place, and we built this big, beautiful mansion of a relationship that wasn’t totally built on the 100% truth, and it starts cracking. Things start happening that the public can see.
“Then we had to get to a point of, ‘Okay, tear this down and let’s start from the beginning’ … It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” he said.
Though the couple have since repaired their marriage and moved on, with Beyoncé giving birth to their twins, Jay-Z shares that he consulted her before releasing the album, as he raps candidly about their problems.
