One of the victims of notorious kidnapper Chukwudi Dumeme Omwuamadike alias Evans has come out to share details of his time in the hands of the kidnappers. We applaud James Uduji for his boldness in sharing details with the public.
Speaking to news men, James, the Chairman of Comestar Cable Manufacturing Limited, said he was in captivity for 42 days. James was one of the victims who paid the highest ransom of $1.2m to gain his freedom.
He explained that he was abducted in Festac after he arrived the country from Canada where he went to visit his wife who just gave birth a month before the encounter and was shot alongside two of his drivers in the process.
He said a doctor was called in to treat him immediately they got to the hideout because he was bleeding so bad and although he wasn’t maltreated during his stay because of his condition, several other victims were and some most likely killed.
He mentioned that he was fed daily with noodles, and after he paid the ransom, Evans gave him ten thousand Naira for transport and he was dropped off close to Lagos State University (LASU). He also said he was in chains for the 42days, and Evans traveled out of the country immediately he paid even before he was let go. He thanked the Police Force for arresting Evans, saying he is indeed a wicked man.
