TVC E. The mother of Nigerian musician, Dammy Krane, has posted what she described ‘family official press release’ on her son’s travails.
Dammy Krane’s family through his mother has said, he is innocent of the allegation. He is currently being held in an American jail, allegedly for credit card fraud.
The release is signed by one Elizabeth Adeola Oshodi “for Dammy Krane’s family.” Krane’s mother, Oluwakemi Oshodi, explained that contrary to the allegations preferred against her son, the promoters were likely responsible for the credit card fraud.
She writes, “Promoters book hotels for artistes’ stays and often buy their destination tickets.” She says Dammy’s ticket and hotel bookings were fraudulently purchased by the next show promoter, but that her son is being held because of his fame.
Claiming that their family have been in the entertainment industry for almost 15 years, it never occurred to them to verify the sources of (flight and hotel) bookings to confirm their legitimacy.
Holding brief for her superstar son, Madam Oshodi writes, “He will have his day in court to clear his name. He will give his personal press release shortly.
“I, however, have decided to speak up against insinuations of fraud and grand theft.
“Dammy is a true gentle and honest citizen of our planet, and remains a good ambassador for not just the music industry, but Nigeria.”
She also takes the opportunity to advise those in the entertainment industry to henceforth decline “emergency arrangements that do not give up to 24 to 48 hours to allow you call the airlines and hotels for verification.”
Remember to always give the option for promoters or show organizers to buy all bookings and must accompany with the booking profiles : the names used for bookings, and phone numbers must match your designated or named offers, or they will need to send the cash in their verifiable names to your business account.
Meanwhile, in a series of videos posted online, Madam Oluwakemi Oshodi has been in celebratory mood.
