The National Leadership of the Nigeria Pensioners Union has bestowed upon the Oyo State Council as the best performing state in the country.
The award is coming despite a backlog of unpaid gratuities and pensions which has run into several months.
The event which attracted pensioners from across the state was used as an opportunity to chart new path.
Meanwhile, the event was an opportunity for the leadership of the elders union to bear their minds on issues affecting the populace.
The union berated Senate president Bukola Saraki for comments he made against the anti-graft war of the president Muhammadu Buhari administration, describing it as unfortunate.
