Tupac Shakur will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It is the late rapper’s first year of eligibility and he will be inducted by his friend and award winning rapper Snoop Dogg. He will be the sixth rap act to be voted into the Hall of Fame in its 30-year history.
The Hall of Fame described him as “an international symbol of resistance and outlaw spirit, an irresistible contradiction, a definitive rap anti-hero.”
Other members of the class of 2017 inductees include Journey, Pearl Jam and Nile Rodgers.
The Rock Hall is a nonprofit charitable organization with a mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll.
Tupac Shakur’s life is the subject of the upcoming drama, “All Eyez on Me.”
