Lagos State government has declared it remains meningitis-free. The State’s Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris made this known while briefing journalists on the activities of the Ministry in the last year.
Doctor Idris said he is confident about the Disease Surveillance Unit in the state, because it had had been exceptional when combating Lassa fever and cholera outbreaks in the past.
The commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Lola Akande also briefed journalists.
She said seven hundred domestic violence cases were handled by her ministry, in 2016.
