The minister for Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has been travelling across Nigeria, inspecting federal road projects.
On his stopover in Oyo State, the minister assured the government and people that Nigeria is sure to progress.
Correspondent Olutayo Famous Cole has the report that the minister was in Oyo state to assess the level of development on the 1,456-Kilometer Federal roads and the 11 ongoing road projects in the state.
Contractors handling the 57 Kilometer Ogbomosho-Oko-Ilogbo-Oshogbo road project which was the first port of call of the Minister briefed him on progress of work.
Fashola was also in Ogbomosho to inaugurate 100 units of Houses of various specifications in the sprawling community.
Work on the Ibadan-Oyo -Ogbomosho-Ilorin four-lane divided highway is progressing well. engineers are working overtime to ensure that the project meets deadline.
This according to the minister is the way out of recession.
The Minister also visited ongoing Housing projects in Akinyele local government and other parts of the state.
Fashola also met with the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi in his office in Ibadan where he requested that the state key into the National Housing Scheme by providing more land. His request was graciously accepted.
The minister who assured of seamless supply of electricity in the near future also inspected various sections of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Fashola assured that these projects would create employment opportunities and enhance commerce and inter connectivity between states.
