The Bayelsa State government and the office of the Special Adviser to the President and Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme have agreed to collaborate in engaging youths to harness their agricultural potential in the State.
Governor Seriake Dickson has also given approval to a Nigerian car manufacturing company to establish an Automobile Industrial Park.
Eighty percent of amnesty beneficiaries are indigenous to Bayelsa State, and the state witnesses some manner of unrest whenever there is a delay in the payment of their monthly stipends.
The programme has churned out graduates in various fields, and yet many still look up to the Amnesty office for starter packs for economic self sustenance.
Dickson is pleased with their mission to Bayelsa and gave his assurance of a viable partnership to promote economic development in the state.
The visitors later went to the one hundred and twenty seven hectre Epie Upland Fish Farm in Yenegwe to have a first hand view of the aqua culture project.
