Another witness called to testify in the ongoing trial of a Federal High Court judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, says fire arms, live cartridges, and 39.5 million naira were found in his custody, during the sting operation.
That witness is an officer of the Department of State Services, and that operation was carried out by the DSS on October the 7th.
Ike Onuoha is an operative of the Dss and led the sting operation at the residence of the accused in Apo District, Abuja
He says the operation was carried out following a petition against the judge and intelligence at the disposal of the security agency.
The search led to the recovery of 39.5 million naira, two black pump riffle and live cartridges of ammunition as well as monies in other currencies.
After his testimony, a cross examination was carried out by the defence lawyers, armed with probing questions .
They sought to know the identity of the petitioner, which the witness claimed was confidential.
Defense Counsel Jeph Njikonye went further, stating bluntly that there was no petition and that the first defendant was only being hounded following his landmark judgement in the Dasuki gate saga.
Minutes after the cross examination was over and the court could proceed no further as there was no other witness to testify.
The prosecution counsel claimed they were being threatened and asked the court to adjourn.
But the Defence counsels were all opposed to the application saying it will slow down the trial.
The court had given a time frame of three days within which it would wrap up the matter.
And after listening keenly to both parties the Presiding Judge Jude Okeke admonished the prosecution counsel to put in more effort considering the nature of the case.
The matter was then adjourned till Wednesday
