Co-stars and Hollywood fans of Carrie Fisher have been tweeting their shock and support after she suffered a heart attack on Friday (December 23).
It happened on a flight between London and Los Angeles. She is now in stable condition at UCLA Medical Centre after reportedly suffering a critical condition after suffering a “cardiac episode”. According to the Los Angeles Times, who cite emergency officials, she was rushed to a hospital after landing.
Fisher, who celebrated her 60th birthday this year, has been on a tour promoting a new memoir. She is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” movies.
Among those paying tribute and offering support were her “Star Wars” co-stars Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker, Peter Mayhew aka Chewbacca and Warwick Davis who, among other roles, played Wicket the Ewok in “Return of the Jedi”.
Also offering best wishes were Fisher’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” co-star Gwendoline Christie as well as “Star Trek” icons William Shatner and George Takei, Bette Midler, Elijah Wood and Josh Gad.
There was also a tweet from Fisher’s dog, Gary, which asked fans to “please keep @CarrieFisher in your thoughts and prayers’.
