Peace and scholarship have long been the true legacies of Kanem Borno and Sokoto caliphates.
That was until the emergence of Boko haram and it’s radical Ideology which has robbed the North East of peace.
Now, the Tijjaniyah Brotherhood in collaboration with the Yobe state government, is trying to reverse this with a conference it hopes will change the dangerous ideology.
This North east conference is designed to restore the peace the region was originally known for and also dissociate Boko Haram sects from true Islam.
With the support of the Yobe state government, this international organisation, the Tijjaniyah Brotherhood put this together this two day conference to educate and enlighten the people on the true teachings of Islam, urging them to shun the evil deeds of boko haram sects.
At the event, Yobe state Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, commended President Mohammadu Buhari for taking decisive measures towards ensuring that peace returned to Yobe state and the north east in general.
The occasion was graced by the Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Bauchi and the Shehu of Borno.
Various Islamic , politicians and traditional leaders were also invited from neighbouring states to partake in the event.
