The minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed alongside a panel made up of major stakeholders in the music industry got together at Eko Hotel, Lagos to discuss the future of the music industry in Nigeria as well as collaborations in Africa.
The panel at the round table was made up of the likes of Yeni Kuti; founder Felabration, Tony Okoroji; Copyright Society of Nigeria, Nachilala Nkombo; Director of the ONE campaign in Africa, Rikki Stein; Fela Kuti’s former manager, Sandra Oyewole; a partner at Olajide Oyewole LLP, Nigeria, Oye Akideinde, General Manager, Mobile Apps. TECNO, Kenny Ogungbe, CEO Kennis Music and Kelvin
The panel addressed several issues in the industry including copyright, piracy and distribution.
AFRIMA 2016 is set to hold on Sunday November 6 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The hosts of the ceremony are drawn from three majorly spoken languages in Africa; English, French and Arabic. They are Ahmed Soultan (Morocco); Bonang Matheba (South Africa); and Ika Jang (Congo).
