Afrobeats sensation, Seun Anikulapo Kuti has released a new 3-song EP titled Struggle Sounds on Sony Music Masterworks.
The EP which is co-produced by Robert Glasper has songs like Gimme My Vote Back C.P.C.D, Struggle Sounds and African Dreams. The C.P.C.D stands for Corporate Public Control Department.
Seun continues in the footsteps of his late father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, with strong social and political messages in his songs.
“More than ever we are convinced of our mission and the purpose of our music,” Seun said.
“The Struggle Sounds EP is a true reflection of my social and political beliefs. I give honour to my parents and every revolutionary who made this possible even before I was born.”
And starting from November 1 till December 18, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 are expected to tour cities in the US and Canada. Seun who was 14 when his father died in 1997 led his father’s band, Egypt 80. And he has released three albums so far.
