The Nigerian Senate is set to invite the judges recently arrested by the Department of State Security Services for alleged corruption allegations after receiving a report from the National Judicial Council on the issue.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator David Umaru, disclosed this at plenary on Wednesday.
Speaking off camera with TVC News afterwards, Senator Umaru said the DSS will not be part of the investigation since its activities fall within the purview of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
He said only the judges are to provide answers on the arrests to the Judiciary Committee.
