”Nigerian Judiciary is a dog that cannot bite” – Barr. Wale Ogunade

TVC E. The problem of corruption in Nigeria is not new to humankind even though it has reached unprecedented proportions in recent years. It is as old as society itself and cuts across nations, cultures, races and classes of people.

Steve Adaramoye a Lawyer and Public affairs analyst has said during an interview segment today Tuesday 19th of July 2016, that The Nigerian president needs to do more job and make the Nigerian law stronger and effective.  He also said greed is part of the reason why corruption will grow.

Barr.Wale Ogunade the second guest on the show believes that the Judiciary in Nigeria is just a dog that cannot bit and the Legislature too cannot do it job, and it is on that note, that corruption will continue to grow. He also said, if Law makers does not make good laws, the judiciary cannot and will not have good laws to work with.

It has been argued that one of the major obstacles to the development of poor countries is corruption. Corruption is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges of our time, a challenge that is not only leading to impoverishment and loss of lives but also threatening the stability of society.

It is also on record that CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA It is well known that corruption is an obstacle to the provision of services and it has been documented that many public organisations in Nigeria cannot deliver services expected of the service compact with all Nigerians (SERVICOM) as a result of several reasons including lack of capacity, poor orientation and attitude, weak incentives, weak monitoring and evaluation system and corruption.

It has been documented that corruption is widespread, deep and endemic in Nigeria.

[iii] Nigeria has been consistently rated among the most corrupt countries in the world by Transparency International in its Corruption Perception Index.
