TVC E. A total of 145,345 students from the public and private schools will be sitting for this year’s Junior waec (JSS 3) basic education certificate examination beginning from tomorrow June 15th to Friday June 17 between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm each day.
The result of the exam will be used for admission into senior secondary arm.
The state’s Ministry of Education made this known yesterday in a press release signed by the Assistant Director of its Public Affairs unit, Mr Adesegun Ogundeji and made available to journalists.
According to him, the public schools will present 77,938 from the total students for the exam. He said while the state’s Examinations Board would conduct the exam, students would be tested in both core and elective subjects totaling 15.
Core subjects the students will be writing include English Studies, Mathematics, Basic Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, Social Studies, Cultural and Creative Arts, CRS/IRK. PHE, French, Computer Science/ICT and one from Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba languages and the elective subjects to include Agric Science, Home Economics, Arabic Studies and Business Studies.
Mr. Ogundeji noted that each candidate was expected to sit for between 13 and 15 subjects. He however, urged students to come with necessary writing materials and well prepared to enable them to pass the exam and transit to the senior school arm.
