One of the widows of late music producer and singer, OJB Jezreel has taken to social media to eulogise her late husband who died on Tuesday 14 June 2016 after a four-year battle with kidney disease.
Ama, in an Instagram post thanked God for the life of the departed beatmaker, and his preparations to meet his maker.
The mother of three boys reminisced, “With a grateful heart to GOD, with praises on my lips, and thanks in my heart, I thank God for the life of my husband Babatunde Okungbowa, aka OJB Jezreel. You sang and said so much about the day you would leave this world; you had no fear of death or pain.”
She recalled OJB’s love for God and his kids, one that kept him going through the darkest pain. Speaking of his stoic resolve in the face of pain and death, never losing his faith in the face of it all, she recalled, “All you held onto was your love for God, your love for your children, it’s a love that kept you breathing day and night, you never lost your faith in the Lord. You died a believer, you died a true Christian, so I cry tears of joy for you, joy that the pain that made days horrible. The pain that made nights a torture is over.”
Recognising that his survival went beyond just the medication, and all to a higher power and ascribing the honour to that same power she posits, “Let no man take God’s glory for your life. Every day you lived was by the grace and mercy of God, not by money, not by drugs, not by doctors, as no one could explain how you survived all the attacks and several health issues that came your way.”
The grieving widow spoke of the deceased loving nature and the pain felt by their children at losing him. She said: “Your beautiful story will be told darling, your pure heart and endless love will see us thru losing you my love. Thank you my love for giving me the best years I have ever known,3 amazing sons that radiate your love and all you taught them”.
Continuing, she spoke of the pain of loss, and their longing for him, but states that the boys have been quick to console her. She states, “It has been hard baby, it hurts baby, we want you back but your sons said ‘my daddy is in heaven, mummy don’t cry, daddy is no longer in pain so mummy please don’t cry’”.
Bidding her departed husband goodbye, she declares her love and commits him to his maker as she writes, “OJB you are alive every day in the home we shared in our hearts and we will love you forever and always. Our love can never end, go with God.”
