Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has said that God will produce a man of integrity to succeed him in the state.
The governor said Ondo State would never “go back to Egypt”.
Mimiko said this in Akure during a thanksgiving service at the 15th annual convention of the Riches in Christ Evangelical Mission Akure, on Sunday.
In a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, Mimiko noted that God that made his re-election very peaceful would make the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State very peaceful too.
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, who was at the event, advised the people of Ondo State to vote for someone that would continue the good legacies of Mimiko.
Fayose warned the people of the state not to repeat the mistake he claimed that Nigerians made during the last presidential election.
“The people of Ondo State must not make the mistake we made during the last presidential election in Nigeria. My advice is that you don’t allow yourselves to be carried away by repeating the mistakes of last year that we are paying for now.
“Ondo State should not be misled by voting wrongly; it would be a big mistake on your part if you make the mistake of voting for opposition parties. The best that could happen to Ondo State is for the people to vote for the continuity of Governor Mimiko’s good legacies,” the statement quoted Fayose as saying.
Fayose, who said all his predictions for Nigeria last year had come to reality, commended Mimiko for identifying with the people of Ondo State across various strata.
