The ‘Yeah 3x’ hit-maker and his entourage reportedly ignored warnings from the pilot not to light up on board the aircraft, prompting him to call police when he could smell a ”strong odour” of the drug coming from the cabin.
Officers arrived at the Signature Aviation at Miami International Airport on Monday (16.05.16) and made everyone leave the plane as they could also smell marijuana.
According to TMZ, the smell of smoke was so strong, the pilot was forced to open all the doors and air the jet out before it was useable again. Chris’ friends are said to have chronicled the whole incident on Snap-chat.
This is the latest trouble for the 27-year-old singer, as last week he received a visit from police following complaints from neighbors after he and a friend began doing doughnuts on all-terrain vehicles (ATV) in the street, including on a number of lawns, and racing up and down the road at around 6pm.
As well as the noise made by the vehicles, the pair’s antics also disturbed children who were playing outside and when one neighbor confronted the singer and threatened to call police, he replied: ”F**k you and f**k the cops.”
The local residence called for law enforcement assistance, and when the officers came out and knocked at Chris’ door, the person who answered said the ‘Run It’ singer would not come to the door and they should call the star’s lawyer if that was a problem.
Sources told the website police were ”not amused” and are planning to go to the Los Angeles City Attorney and recommend prosecution for disturbing the peace. The singer is said to be ”hated” in the neighbourhood because of non-stop late night noise.
Chris has had a number of run-ins with the law in recent years, beginning with being convicted for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.
For that offense, he was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service, and his probation was finally lifted in March 2015. In 2014, he spent almost three months in jail for violating his probation after allegedly hitting a man in Washington, and had his probation revoked in January 2015 following a poor report which claimed he had a ”knack” for finding trouble and had been present at two shootings, though he was not involved in either.
