Kenyan association takes kids off the streets using classical music

Nairobi Classics, a new Kenyan association, has brought the best musicians from around the world to the capital, Nairobi for a series of concerts.

The funds raised will be donated to “Ghetto Classics,”a music group based in the Korogocho slum, teaching classical music to children.

Pavel Timofeyevsky, a world-renowned Russian pianist, is in the country to perform a series of concerts in Nairobi.

On his first visit to Kenya, Timofeyevsky was keen to meet the youth.

A member of Ghetto classics, Eric, first became interested in music seven years ago, starting off as a singer and then as a saxophonist.

And for the first time in his life, he was able to play a duet with a great musician, a moment he will likely never forget.
