TVC E, NEWS The Senator representing Lagos central district, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has charged the Federal Government to put in place, policies that will help curb the growing youth unemployment in Nigeria.
She gave the charge at the 17th Lagos central district town hall meeting which was the 3rd edition in the course of the 8th senate.
The meeting is a regular forum for the senator representing Lagos central to meet with her constituents and give account of her activities at the National Assembly.
The event attracted leaders of the All Progressives Congress, traditional rulers and stakeholders in the senatorial district.
In her speech, Senator Tinubu who also chairs the senate committee on women affairs challenged women to come out and participate in active politics .
Unhappy with the level of youth unemployment, a youth empowerment and acquisition scheme was put in place by Mrs Tinubu to cater for the youths.
Tricycles and grinding machines were given to her constituents and cash gifts to start their businesses.
Senator Tinubu decried the level of youth unemployment and challenged the FG to rise to the challenge.
Several intervention programmes like elderly citizens assistance scheme, petty traders empowerment capital scheme, model markets, constituency intervention projects have been instituted by the former first lady of Lagos state.
