TVC E, POLITICS – The taproot of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State will be uprooted in the next general election.
Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei made this vow while playing host to All Progressives Congress, APC faithful in the state.
He made the declaration during the celebration of his 47th birthday in his home as supporters of the APC, in the state came calling in large numbers.
Incidentally, not a single known face in his former political family- the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was there to felicitate with him.
This was not surprising to political observers as Honourable Ochei had long been treated as enemy number one by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration. This began when he left the PDP after losing the governorship primary.
What appeared to be a surprise package for the former Speaker and political observers in the state was the show of support and solidarity by supporters of APC, a party he is yet to declare for officially.
This development leaves honourable Ochei with no option than to declare publicly where he now stands in the state politically.
Ochei who is still widely believed to be eyeing the Delta State governorship seat is confident that himself and other big wigs joining the APC are capable of showing the PDP the door in the next election.
Since the dawn of this uninterrupted democratic dispensation in Nigeria, Delta State has been under the firm grip of the PDP.
The first governor to take the reins of power after years of military rule was Chief James Ibori of the PDP.
After eight years, the now jailed former governor handed over power to Emmanuel Uduaghan, his cousin.
Uduaghan also ruled for eight years and handed over power to the current governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, also of the PDP.

And it will continue to remain under the firm grip of the PDP whether Ochei like’s it or not!!! After all he tried it but failed and will continue to fail till thy kingdom come because they are the ones destructing the PDP just because they want to remain in power forever.
