TVC E, NEWS – Two suspected cases of Lassa fever have been discovered in Ondo State, South West Nigeria.
The cases were discovered in Ose, Local Government area of the state which led to the deaths of two patients.
One of the patients was moved from Edo State to Ondo State to seek medical attention.
To stop the spread, Commissioner for health, Dayo Adeyanju who confirmed this to TVC News in Akure organised a sensitisation workshop having traditional rulers, community leaders and religious leaders in attendance.
He added that the state government has sent the report of the suspected cases to the laboratory in Eruwa to ascertain if the cases were actually Lassa fever.
