Former Chelsea gaffer Jose Mourinho was on Sunday reported to have penned a six-page letter to Manchester United stating why he should be the club’s next manager.
According to the report by The Independent, Mourinho claimed he was willing to change his management style to suit United and outlined what changes he would make to the squad.
The report also claims The Special One offered a “forensic analysis” of the Old Trafford squad in what it called a “love letter” to the club.
However, Mourinho’s agent Mendes has slammed the rumours, claiming the idea is ridiculous and absurd.
“It does not occur to anyone that a coach like Jose Mourinho can write letters to clubs offering their services,” said Mendes.
“It is absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd.”
United were booed off after Saturday’s 1-0 home loss to Southampton, mounting more pressure on Louis van Gaal.
After the Premier League defeat by the Saints, during which United managed only one shot on target, Van Gaal said he and his team deserved to be jeered by their fans.
Mourinho left Stamford Bridge in December after Chelsea’s disastrous start to the season and is yet to reveal his future plans.
