TVC E, WORLD NEWS – The conflict in the Central African Republic has left more than 1 million people displaced.
An Emergency Food Security Assessment by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), reveals those people are in dire need of humanitarian aid, while some are seeking refuge in neighbouring countries.
Its partners reveal that half the population of the country, faces hunger and poverty.
This doubles the number of hungry people in a one-year period, as conflict and insecurity have led to limited access, and availability of food to nearly 2.5 million people.
One in six women, men and children struggle with severe or extreme food insecurity, not knowing where their next meal is coming from.
