The Ogun state Police Command has paraded a suspect who participated in the killing of One Chief Tola Okuneye who was killed during a church service at Ijebu Igbo in 2014.
The 23 year-old Kazeem Tiamiyu popularly known as ‘Butcher’, was alleged to be the ‘hitman’ of the New Black Movement Cult group in Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
The Police also paraded the duo of Taiwo Adekunle and Sophia Opeifa, who were nabbed in Ijagun area of Ijebu-Ode for engaging in cross border arms smuggling, and one Nosa Unity who was apprehended with a fuel laden Truck.
While parading the suspects at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, explained that all the suspects were rounded up by the men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as a follow up to the directive of the State Commissioner of Police, Mojeed Alli.
Adejobi further stated that the suspected ‘hitman’ actually confessed to have killed more than 15 persons in different cultists clashes in Ijebu Ode and its environs.
