TVC E, LIFESTYLE – Today, January 28 marks the birthday of fast rising singer Adekunle Gold and veteran Nigerian rapper Terry Tha Rapman.
Born Adekunle Kosoko decades ago into a royal family, the talented singer graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Arts & Design from Lagos state Polytechnic.
Before making his debut in Nigeria’s music industry, Adekunle was referred to as the king of photoshop after smoothly editing himself into photos of popular celebrities.
He has since embraced his love for music having signed on to Olamide’s YBNL record label.
At the age of 15 Adekunle Gold wrote his first song. In 2014 he disbanded a music group he formed while in school and went solo. Later that year he released his debut single ‘Sade’ in 2014.
He penned the deal with YBNL shortly after the release of ‘Sade,’ which is rendered to the tune of One Direction’s ‘Story of my Life’.
The self-acclaimed YBNL Toaster followed up the smash hit with ‘Orente’ which established him as one of the fastest rising music acts in Nigeria.

He was originally known as Terrific when he began rapping in 1991. He dropped Terrific for Terry Tha Rapman in 1995.
T.R as he is fondly called by friends and fans has three albums under his belt: Tha Rap Manifestation, Tha Rapman Beginz and the popular Boyz Are Not Smilin’ (BANS).
In 2010 he won the Headies Award for Best Rap Single.
