Kitchen moments are joyous moments especially when you know you are about to give your taste buds a time of its life. People would say that meals prepared with joy come out even better.
Well, there’s no lie in it at all. Our very regular Chef Wunmi decided to tease us with this very good looking meal of Boiled Plantain with Fish Sauce. She made use of these very few and simple ingredients which are easily accessible, making it fast and easy for you to prepare.
Ingredients:
Plantain
Groundnut Oil
Tomatoes
Chili Pepper
Onion
Spices
Roasted Fish
Roasted fish is very effective because it adds extra flavor to the sauce. Ripened plantain is easily digestible, it has high fibre and other nutrients that are advantageous to the body.
- Wash the plantain, cut it in large chunks and boil it with the skin on, add little salt to taste.
- Bleach the groundnut oil, add sliced onions followed by your blended pepper.
- Next, you peel your smoked fish to remove the bones.
- Note that you can use any other kind of protein in place of smoked fish. If you are using frozen fish, ensure you boil it with enough seasoning before turning it into the sauce.
