Chelsea might replace Conte with Diego Simeone

The premier league giants, Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone to replace present head coach, Antonio Conte at the end of the season.

According to The Time journalist, Matt Hughes;

Though there are no imminent plans for Conte to be sacked, it is understood the Italian and the west London outfit will mutually agree to part ways at the end of the campaign because there are continuing issues “over Chelsea’s transfer policy and [managerial] structure.

As a result, the Blues have started searching for a new manager, and Simeone is their No. 1 target. Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri and Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri are also on their shortlist.

Conte who is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season is tagged an instant hero in west London after he won the Premier League title in his first season in England with the blues. The 48-year-old, who will have just a year remaining on his contract in the summer, penned a new contract at Chelsea but did not extend its length.

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are not looking to sack Conte, there is an expectation that a mutual agreement will be reached over an exit, with the manager clearly unhappy by Chelsea’s transfer activity and structure.
