Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor is a Nigerian technology expert and entrepreneur who currently serves as Google’s Country Manager in Nigeria.
In August 2011, Juliet was listed in Forbes ‘ “20 Youngest Power Women In Africa”.
On #WakeUpNigeria this morning, Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor had a chat with Yomi Owope as she talked about her career and how it started.
She initially explained that her success came through setting goals and she advises people to set goals and use every opportunity to learn from every phase of life.
“It’s important that people need to believe in their selves, set goals & grab oppourtunities when they come.
Speaking about the influence of women in the business world and even technology, she said
“Where we are today, once women show that they are ready to work, people take them seriously and it’s good. We are in a society where there are perceptions and exceptions on the roles of men and women. Women are creating supportive groups, we are supporting one another.”

While she talked about how her career started, she noted that she had always had passion for technology.
“I always had passion for technology.I studies computer engineering, it’s a means to an end. The industry is a vibrant industry, there is no dull moment.
Speaking on how to start a business, Juliet noted that basic digital knowledge is key.
“We live in a digital age and it’s very important that you incorporate digital in what you do. Through digital platform you can upgrade your skills and it’s easy to expand your circle of reach through social media. There is a lot of engagement in the digital world and it’s necessary to have at least a basic knowledge of it.”
Juliet hinted that google is carrying out a free digital training for those interested.
Just as necessary, she noted that she has time to relax especially at home by seeing movies especially romantic movies with home made popcorn.
“I love good movies,especially romantic movies at home with home made popcorn. I am hopelessly romantic. I also love travelling, although I do it for work most times.
