TVC E. Eid al-Adha (Id ul-Adha) is a four-day Islamic festival starting on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja (Thou al-Hijja) to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe this event.
YourView was not left out in the EID-EL-KABIR celebration this morning as it was the talk of the show.
Sadiat Onike an Islamic cleric who was a guest on the #LetsTalk segment shed more light on the importance of the celebration and the killing of ram.
She explained how it started with Prophet Ibrahim who obeyed Allah by wanting to give his long sought-after only son for sacrifice before an arrogant ram in paradise took the son’s place.
Sadiat emphasized that Allah is not interested in the blood “The basic thing for the period is to share; those who could give to those who couldn’t, to show love and to unite. The essence of the ram came from Prophet Ibrahim.
According to the Quran, Allah does not want the blood and the flesh, he wants the piety and obedience and that was what Prophet Ibrahim did.”
Speaking about those who could not celebrate due to financial constraints, Sadiat said;
” The Eid is very important, everyone must be around and pertake in the celebration and festivity, Whether there is recession or not, you should thank God for the gift of life.”
Concerning those who over celebrated, she added ” You will surely have people who will go over board but alcohol is against Islam.”
