Nigeria Pro-Football League abandons January 31st resumption date

NPFLTVC E, SPORTS – The new Nigeria Pro-Football League season will no longer begin on January the 31st as earlier planned with a new date now likely to be announced after the 2016 CHAN tournament in Rwanda.

CHAN parades players who play in their home leagues and the tournament will start on Saturday January the 16th and run through February the 7th with Nigeria making their second appearance in the competition.

A cross section of players in the Nigeria Pro-Football league had earlier kicked against the January the 31st kick-off date for the league.

They demanded that clubs should clear their outstanding payments as well as put a mechanism in place that will help clubs fulfill their financial obligation to the players.
