Celebrity couple and proud parents, Beyoncé and husband, Jay Z. Megastar musician couple’s twins are reported to have been born ahead of their Expected Date of Delivery.

As reported by Daily Mail Online, the babies were born prematurely and are being treated for jaundice. The pair have not left the hospital since Beyoncé was admitted for delivery eight days ago; and it was previously reported that doctors had opted to keep them in for a ‘minor issue.’

The twins will have spent most of their first days under ‘bili lights,’ the photo-therapy designed to eliminate high levels of bilirubin in the blood.

Physicians say jaundice is quite common among newborns, especially pre-term births; and twins are said to be more susceptible since they are rarely carried to full term.

The yellow substance is created when old red blood cells are replaced by new ones; and heightened levels cause a baby’s skin and eyes to turn yellow. If left untreated, physicians say it can be very dangerous; but once diagnosed, it is easily and usually successfully treated. However, there is no concrete details regarding the sexes or names of the babies so far.
