NFF okays Uyo Stadium for Nigeria’s clash with South Africa

The Nigeria Football Federation, is satisfied with the playing turf of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The stadium is slated to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and South Africa next month.

Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Chris Green and NFF Deputy-General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme, were part of the inspection team on Tuesday.

The stadium hosted the 2017 AFCON qualifier between the Super Eagles and Tanzania in September 2016, as well as the 2018 World Cup qualifiers between Nigeria and Algeria.
